Lessons on How to Sketch

Explore drawing tips and guides throughout the lessons on how to sketch to help you on your journey to improve your art. Learn how to sketch up simple objects to still lifes and even more complex illustrations.

Hi, Chuck here.

All of the arts are far more complex than many laymen realize. There are seemingly limitless possible things to learn about the arts in every media. This endless discovery and challenge are what attracts and often addicts many artists to a life's pursuit.

I, myself, and others will offer many focused lessons here. In the quick sketch, we often choose just a few elements to use for simplicity, but all of these lessons integrate for simultaneous use as they are habituated. They also translate for use in more extensive visions in other media, and the principles involved are often applicable in everyday life. The pursuit of integrating many abilities is very satisfying.

A Quick Tip: The sketching process is noticeably easier if we draw the size we see until we study scaling.

Remember, we are playfully exploring here. Profound Applications may result, but enthusiasm for discovering how to use the elements in harmony is the intention.

Be totally forgiving of the efforts of self and others in the Quick Sketch frame of mind.

Relax and go for it!
